We are a small "off the grid" farm which we started in 2006. When we began our farming adventure, we had a small flock of laying hens, two comercial pig, and three Nigerian goats. As has happened with many folks, we were introduced to American Livestock Breeds Concervancy (ALBC) and our misson for the farm changed. We looked into the rare livestock of what we had. We switched from huge comercial pigs to the smaller, easer to handle, homestead Americna Guniea Hog. We parted with our sweet, little Nigeran pet goats and got the Arapawa goats.
We use the Guinea Hogs for their pork and sell their litters as breeders and feeders. We use the Arapawa for their milk and sell their young as breeders.
