Fort Lewis Preservation Farm on Facebook |
We are a small off-the-grid farm which we started in 2006. When we began our farming adventure, we had a small flock of laying hens, two commercial pig, and three Nigerian goats. We were introduced to American Livestock Breeds Conservancy (ALBC) and our mission for the farm changed. We switched from huge commercial pigs to the smaller, easer to handle, American Guinea Hogs. We parted with our sweet little, Nigerian, pet goats and got the rare Arapawa goats. We still keep Jersey bull calves to raise up for meat, but we now have a Kerry Cow and Bull calf which we plan to breed and start working on our own herd, for milk and meat. We sell eggs from free ranged hens, breeding stock, freezer stock Guinea hogs and breeding stock Arapawas.
